Gate Won’t Open Possible Causes:
-
Power outage or tripped breaker
-
Blown fuse in the control box
-
Gate opener in manual (disengaged) mode
-
Remote battery dead
Quick Fixes:
-
Check for power — ensure the gate’s circuit breaker is on.
-
Inspect for flashing lights or beeping — these may indicate an error code.
-
Try the wall switch or keypad to see if it responds.
-
Replace the remote battery and test again.
-
Verify the gate is not in manual release mode.
Gate Won’t Close Possible Causes:
-
Sensor eyes blocked or dirty
-
Obstruction in the gate path
-
Timer or limit switch misaligned
Quick Fixes:
-
Clean both safety sensor lenses (usually near the bottom of the gate).
-
Remove any debris, leaves, or objects near the track or hinge.
-
Reset the system by powering off for 30 seconds and turning back on.
-
Check if the gate closes manually — if not, hinges or rollers may need lubrication.
Gate Keeps Beeping
Common Reasons:
-
The backup battery is low
-
Obstruction detected
-
Limit switch or safety sensor fault
Quick Fixes:
-
Unplug the unit, wait 30 seconds, and plug it back in.
-
Make sure there are no obstructions in the gate’s path.
-
If the beeping continues, it often signals a battery or board error — schedule a service call.
Keypad or Remote Not Working: Steps to Try:
-
Replace remote or keypad batteries.
-
Reprogram the remote (check your brand’s manual, such as LiftMaster or Viking).
-
Confirm the receiver’s antenna is connected securely.
-
Ensure the gate opener has power and is not in “lockout” mode.
Gate Opens or Closes Halfway
-
Inspect hinges and tracks for dirt or corrosion.
-
Check for resistance when moving manually.
-
Reset the limit switches if the gate stops in the same spot each time.
-
Power cycle the unit to clear stored errors.
When to Call for Service
If your gate won’t move at all, keeps beeping, or stops mid-cycle, it may need
